TATTOO PREPARATION

In order to ensure you have the best experience during your session, please carefully review all of the following information, including how to prepare for your appointment, what to bring on the day of, etc. If you have any questions at all about preparing for your tattoo appointment, please reach out to our team or review our FAQs.

  • Moisturize: Begin moisturizing the area getting tattooed once a day (Aveeno, Lubriderm, Cetaphil, or Hustle Butter are recommended).

  • Exfoliate: Exfoliate the area to be tattooed the day of or night before.

  • Hydrate: Start drinking lots of water leading up to your appt. + avoid alcohol for 48 hours + caffeine for 24 hours.

  • Moisturized, hydrated, exfoliated skin is happy skin. If your skin is dehydrated + brittle, we can't guarantee the time estimate given, as it takes much longer to get clean lines + smooth shading.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Morning of: Shave/trim the area getting tattooed and add an extra inch or two for the bandage that will go on after. This will save us a razor + allow your skin to settle in case the area gets red/sensitive after being shaved.

  • Clothing: If you are getting an arm tattoo, wear a loose short sleeve or tank top. If you are getting a back piece, bring a button down or zip up you can put on backwards. If you are getting a leg tattoo, wear shorts. Avoid wearing your Sunday best. We do our best to not get ink splatters on your clothes, but it happens sometimes. If you get cold easily, bring a hoodie!

  • Eat up: Make sure to eat a snack before appts. that are less than 1 hour long + a full meal for ones that are longer than an hour. We can take meal breaks for full day sessions. Please bring snacks + a water as well. We are putting your body through some hurt, so hydration will help!

  • Entertainment: Some people want to talk, some need to get lost in a book, podcast or a show. You can bring headphones + get in the zone. If you have a preference - please share with me!

  • Arrival: Please arrive on time or 5 minutes early. This gives time to do your paperwork + ensures that the day goes smoothly for your appt. + others. Be sure to bring a photo ID with you!

THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Parking: There is a small parking lot with limited parking across the street. Please park on the side of the lot facing the shop or on the side streets.
